The Temple Of The Tooth

The Sri Dalada Maligawa, also known as the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, is one of the most sacred Buddhist shrines in the world.

Located in the heart of Kandy, it houses the left canine tooth of Lord Buddha. This temple is not only a place of worship but also a symbol of Sri Lankan sovereignty and pride.

The temple's architecture is magnificent, featuring traditional Kandyan carvings and a golden roof. Every year, the world-tamous Esala Perahera is held to honor the Sacred Relic, attracting thousands of pilgrims and tourists. The peaceful atmosphere and the scent of jasmine flowers make a visit to the Maligawa a spiritual and unforgettable experience.
