World Heritage Sites in Sri Lanka
Sri Lanka is a country with a rich history and breathtaking natural beauty. It is home to eight UNESCO World Heritage Sites, which include six cultural and two natural locations. Sites like the Sigiriya Rock Fortress, the Sacred City of Anuradhapura, and Polonnaruwa showcase the architectural and engineering brilliance of our ancestors.
The Golden Temple of Dambulla, Kandy, and the Galle Fort reflect the island's religious and colonial history. Furthermore, the Sinharaja Forest Reserve and the Central Highlands represent our unique biodiversity. These sites are not just tourist attractions; they are the proud symbols of our identity and heritage that we must protect for future generations.
