My Village

My village is Kantale, a scenic and historic town situated in the Trincomalee District of eastern Sri Lanka. It is a place where nature and history blend perfectly, making it a wonderful place to live.

The heart of my village is the majestic Kantale Tank (Kantale Wewa), an ancient reservoir built by King Aggabodhi II. This massive tank not only provides breathtaking views during sunset but also serves as the primary water source for our vast paddy fields and sugar cane plantations.

Agriculture is the heartbeat of our village, and the sight of lush green fields stretching to the horizon is truly calming.

Life in Kantale is simple and peaceful. The people are friendly, hardworking, and live in harmony.

Apart from its natural beauty, Kantale is known for its sugar factory and its importance as a transport hub connecting the east to the rest of the island. Living in Kantale allows me to enjoy fresh air, beautiful landscapes, and a strong sense of community that is hard to find in busy cities.
